Ridge Group was established in June 2017 by Jon Espeland, an engineer with experience in product consulting.

His outdoor background included running marathons, competing in Northern California trail races, completing an Ironman, bicycle touring the Oregon coast, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, and skiing in the western United States and New England.
